This page is a work in progress. The following products are updated
regularly. As a new product is issued, the old one is overwritten.
Click on a product to view the last-issued version of it. You can also
use this list to see which products are of most interest to you when
deciding which you would like us to send to send to your e-mail Inbox or
to your text pager.
While your Inbox can handle any text product, pagers are a different story.
We do not recommend sending just any product to your pager since most pagers
have a limit of from 140 to 240 characters, and/or because your paging company
may divide "pages" into 80-character sets, each of which might count as an
additional page, which could end up costing you much more than you
planned. For this reason, we recommend sending only watches and
warnings to your pager. We have a special script which can abbreviate
those to fit neatly in your display. For example, we can send only the
important part of a watch or warning statement, such as "NWS-JAX HAS ISSUED
A TORNADO WARNING FOR ALACHUA CO UNTIL 4:55 PM." And even that statement is
further abbreviated to "NWS-JAX HAS ISSD A TOR WRNG FOR ALACHUA CO TIL 4:55 PM".
If you have a cellphone with an unlimited text plan, then you probably won't be
able to get enough from us. :)
Just write down which products you would like, and then send us an e-mail at
acemwin@alachuaskywarn.org
to let us know where to send them, how you would like them formatted, and
which counties you would like covered. We can cover more than just Alachua
County, and we're open to catering to some surrounding counties, too.
EMWIN Products Piped To Other Agencies, Organizations, and/or Services: If you would like us to push products to your own agency's Facebook page just like we do with the below agencies, let us know!

At this time, this bulletin is not arranged to be sent out to

Local Area Civil Emergency Products
These particular products are actually planned for "local" broadcast over
NWR and perhaps local TV and radio stations when more local emergencies
occur. These products were officially implemented into NWS dissemination Sept.
30, 2003. Obviously, some won't actually apply to our area. EM agencies in the
NWS-JAX County Warning Area, however, haven't much made use of these products yet,
we've noted. Nonetheless, we have them prepared-for in the below list in case
they ever are issued at some time or another. NWS-JAX *has* issued the CEM on earlier
occasion. However, that stopped a while ago and none have been seen since 2003.
UPDATE - SEP 16, 2008: These products ARE listed in the NOAA Data Management
Catalog. There ARE other NWS Field Offices out there issuing them across the US.
...However, local area NWS Field Offices are not distributing them to the EMWIN
or other weather wire services. ...Only through the NWR and EAS systems. This
is because these particular bulletins are originated at the state
level, not the NWS level, and the State of Florida and the Florida area NWS Field
Offices have not made effort to sign any agreements to get these distributed over
the EMWIN and other wire services. They are currently only being distributed over
the NOAA Weather Radio and TV and radio EAS systems. Unfortunately, this is beyond
our control. If they're going out to NWR and EAS, the bulletins have already been
created. They'd just have to be sent out over the NWS wire systems. So there's
really not that much effort requried to get them out on it. But if users in
Florida actually do want them, they will need to contact the powers that be in the
State of Florida Warning Points, and contact all the local area NWS Field Offices,
to convince them to begin sending them over EMWIN so that we CAN send them to you.
At any rate, we still leave them up here just in case it COULD come to
fruition at some point in the future. At this time, AC-EMWIN *is* already
set up and ready to handle these messages locally. Should they be issued
locally, AC-EMWIN is already set up to redistribute them to the AC-SKYWARN
Email Alert List as SOON as they are issued. We are prepared for them.)
ADR NWS ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE (EXTERNAL)
A SERIOUS NOTE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT'S USAGE! This product is NOT designed to
be used as a Civil Emergency Product. HOWEVER, I include it in here because
many forecast offices across the country are using this very bulletin, meant
as an ADMINISTRATIVE ANNOUNCEMENTS bulletin, to broadcast many of the below
civil emergency bulletins. THEREFORE, setting up alarms for the REAL products
is near to impossible because even the NWS is not playing by their own message
format and dissemination rules. By placing the civil products in the ADM
message name instead of the BELOW messages, EMWIN sysops across the country
are UNABLE to set their systems up to properly handle their occurance.
